usc75 - you do realise that the cap for WBC is $90bil don't you?. 2.77 bil is around 3%. They may even miss a dividend but the profit they make probably won't move much after the hit.
What you are saying is a little bit lacking in credibility.
I own shares in another bank (not many as I sold off when the SP was high and the WBC thing was starting up) but I can see that WBC will recover fairly quickly.
I'll wait on the sidelines until that fine comes before getting back in - bank shares are just too good. I may well be that I will load up with WBC as well - the road ahead will be largely up after the fine is delivered.
