Carpenter is playing the emotional greenie card.

He is hoping - and probably correctly - that the average West Australian can't discriminate between uranium MINING (with billions of dollars of income) and uranium/nuclear POWER GENERATION.

Nuclear power may well NOT have a place in WA - at the moment. But uranium MINING is a totally different proposition. It will mean billions of dollars of income not only for the mining companies, but also for the State coffers.

He really is being crafty by not pointing out the discrimination between mining and nuclear power.

Seems very silly to me that on one side of the WA/SA border, uranium mining is not only allowed but actively encouraged - by a Labour State Govt, while on the WA side, it is banned.

I'm sure that all those ions from SA will stop at the border..... ;)
