The Antarctic was at one stage almost free of snow and ice and there are maps to show it. Sailing ships are now being discovered due to being released from the ice which when they got stuck was clear enough to sail there. Why do you think Greenland was called Greenland ---because it was
Climate scientists will tell you that the extent of old sea-ice is decreasing in the Arctic and instead we have new ice arriving in winter, but it quickly melts each year with a trend towards decreasing ice levels over time.
There is absolutely no evidence to say that the world will end in 2040
There is only a fear campaign nothing more
I said by 2040 we may have triggered a tipping point and lose control of the climate.
That is not the end of the world, but we will be unable to slow down an accelerating rate of sea level rise and within a couple of centuries seas could be as high as 10 metres above current levels.
After my last post I did some calculations
1/ Australia produces less that one percent of the worlds CC
2/ Therefore regardless of what we do we will never alter anything
3/ To suggest that we in Australia can change the climate of the world in 20 years is preposterous 4/ To even get our government in action and on the ground would be at least five years
5/ There is a ton of evidence that the story is untrue
6/ Such a short time frame sounds suspicious like a financial budget plan no enviormental
The idea of dealing with our emissions is a moral issue where we can’t expect developing countries to carry the can for our high per capita emissions.
We are already the laughing stock of Asia and Europe and having a first world lifestyle but trying to weasel out of fixing our emissions suggests a childish level of leadership.
The statistics you quote are a different issue, but all emissions add to the world’s total and on that basis we should be doing our bit.
Consequently I would suggest you either give up what ever you do and go and blow any money you can lay your hands on before doomsday. Or other than that get some education so you can see a scam when it is in your face
I’m doing fine a feel we are mean-spirited if we look at overseas scams to justify our inaction. As an individual I don’t go out with a group and eat double my share of food then want to split the bill equally.
That is not a good look as an individual and also as a nation with so many resources available to make changes to a green economy that should also include nuclear technologies.
