"Francesco Fragasso joined the Fluence team as Chief Financial Officer in April 2018, and is responsible for all global financial operations. He has extensive experience leading these activities for successful industrial growth companies, and we couldn't be more excited to have him.
inFluence: Hello Francesco, you joined Fluence April 2018, less than a year after our formation. What’s been most interesting and challenging so far?
FF: Contributing to the company's strategic and organizational transformation has been both the challenge and what attracts me to Fluence. I have been working with the leadership team to accomplish the integration of the business units and I’m happy with the progress we have made so far. We've implemented a shared service model in which the Fluence business unit that is most efficient in providing a specific service provides that service to the entire group. This reduces duplication of costs and assures consistent implementation of best practices. Additionally, by securing the $50M project finance facility announced in 2018, we've cultivated financial conditions that allow us to grow the recurring revenues generated by BOOT projects.
inFluence: How was 2019 for Fluence and where do you see the company making most progress?
FF: We made further progress in growing revenue and margin on Smart Products Solutions, while controlling our fixed costs.
More needs to be done, we still need to achieve profitability, further improve product margins which are not yet where we would like them to be, and further improve operational efficiency.
Securing the funds raised with the last capital raise will enable management to achieve those goals.
inFluence: Which of Fluence’s products and technologies are you most excited about?
FF: All of our products and technology solutions have a degree of differentiation from our competitors in the market. I believe SUBRE is the product with the highest potential: high value for the end user, a competitive advantage protected by IP, and is a pre-engineered solution"
