There's no doubt that you think you know everything when you're young. It does take a while to discover how wrong you were.

It reminds of this Mark Twain quote:

“When I was a boy of 14, my father was so ignorant I could hardly stand to have the old man around. But when I got to be 21, I was astonished at how much the old man had learned in seven years.”

That said, we also learned that adults don't always tell the truth to children. Quite often because the adults don't have the answers to the questions the children are asking.

So, why is it that all these self proclaimed oldies keep calling Thunberg some kind of expert ? Sounds like a defence/diversion tactic to me.

I would have thought that because experience comes with age they would be able to understand better than anyone that she's just a kid who is passionate about climate change.

Of course she's not an expert on climate science. She's just a kid voicing her opinion from her perspective. I don't understand why the grown ups have a problem with this ?

She's got a bit of traction with her dramatic style and everyone's losing their minds over her.

Btw. She doesn't need to be an expert. There are thousands of experts that have done the work for her. She is just expressing an opinion.

Is it because she is reminding the grown ups that they are not doing a very good job with regard to the environment ? Is it because the grownups are embarrassed because they are being shamed by a little girl who is concerned about her future ?
