Monetary value, I believe. I'm not sure how they came up with a price for lepidolite ore, I assume it was based on the spodumene price, discounted down for lower lithium concentration.
Not sure how you would say Desert Lion could become more of a hindrance rather than a help. The liability to the Chinese partner is small, and there's no time pressure to repay it. It will be dealt with when appropriate.
Meanwhile DLI has provided a resource that looks like it will give P1 14 or 15 years of feed from what has been drilled already, including a strip ratio of <1 for the first few years. It isn't going to get much cheaper than that to secure your own feed.
Based on the fact that it looks to be developed before Alvarroes, and has 1000 sqkm of tenements to explore for more material to feed P2 and beyond, I would say it's already a crucial part of the future. I'm sure they will continue to look for other resources to have diversity of feed sources, but DLI will be critical for a few years to come.
Cheers
