Horrible idea. I'd sell my MQG shares immediately and I'm sure many would join me.
The appeal of MQG as an investment is that it is a diversified financial player (investment banking, asset/fund management, corporate leasing, etc) with limited exposure to the domestic housing market.
Id also question the investment thesis wanting to be exposed to the domestic housing market. House prices have only started to recover because rates resumed their decrease. These rates can't go much lower and last time they stagnated the overinflated markets on the east coast started to drop faster than many retail investors thought possible.
