If its the "Unprecedented" angle of you're going for, and the making of causal linkages between things that are deemed to be unprecedented, then you should really include:

Unprecedented emissions from developing countries. [*]

And its corollaries of:

- Unprecedented reduction in the proportion of the global population no longer living in poverty,
- Unprecedented reduction in rates of undernourishment in the developing world,
- Unprecedented rise in the working middle class around the world.

Crack that nut, and you solved the problem (unless, of course, you believe it is only emissions from Australia that cause unprecedented bushfires, coral bleaching, droughts and hot days in Australia).
