CNN says it's because the Europeans have stalled on the approval for the merger. I don't care really, these "big deals" are usually a stuff-up. They pay too much for a little board-room grandstanding.
The Yank S&P has a p/e of around 50 I think and BHP is expected to be sub 10 next year. Know where I'd rather have my money.
