Beta did indeed have the better technology, but lost out due to marketing (shorter tape times) and extra cost.

BRN could well be using this war as a blueprint to success, as they are already aiming for a low cost chip.
Marketing will always be key, no matter what the item or tech, so lets hope they have some guns on the job (we may not necessarily see this, as they are targeting the decision makers, in the target markets)

Deep Learning will be one of the early starters, that fell to the wayside
All those billions of investment lost, ah well..

They may still have a place, but not in true independent A.I.
