@Parsifal: great story! - can't say I even like travelling, I especially dislike long distances, but have to do it from time to time as one of my kids has established her life overseas. Last time, on returning, I was so weakened with a nasty cold (cough, runny nose, breathing difficulties, physically weakened I could not carry my luggage more than 10 feet or so without stopping etc) I requested special treatment at Heathrow - and as a result I had the most amazing treatment;
I found I didn't have to walk the long corridors at Heathrow, or any other airport - at Heathrow my automated armchair (, i.e. wheelchair) was placed near the check-in gate, where a bored employee awaited the throng at the check-in and we began an interesting conversation - turned out he was originally French, had married an Englishwoman, knew a lot about the then intended BREXiT, so time flew by - 'I was then first on board and carefully 'managed' by the stewardess.
On change of plane it was the same story and I arrived in Perth, again to wheelchair and attendee awaiting me, luggage was found early so was one of the first passengers going out into the entrance/exit hall, but to my disappointment my family member who was supposed to pick me up was late, so no-one watched my grand entrance/exit into Perth airport.
Yet air travel is supposed to be the most polluting thing anyone can do - and I am aware of it, but need to do this every so often. But what about those bush fires? They must have pushed our bad boy ratings into the stratosphere . . . .
good to have NBD posting again and at 8 a.m. in the morning!!! Taurisk
