Hazard reduction burns are 'not the panacea': RFS boss, page-115

These groups never belong to the greens or at least that what they say but this is common in Victoria so there are many burns that do not go ahead,the green councils are mainly in the inner city and stop the trimming if trees that hang over the foot paths and are a nuisance but other councils stop removal of scrub and vegetation because you have to apply for a permit and they can impose what ever condition they like on it.
