The only effective Hazard Reduction burns are those within a few kilometers of properties / houses your trying to protect. No point burning the bush far from townships. That means the biggest restrictions are ensuring they dont get away and destroy the very properties your trying to protect.
If we dont start taking real action on climate change it will just keep on getting worse. In 2008 the Garnaut Climate Change Review's final reportsaid "Recent projections of fire weather (Lucas et al. 2007) suggest that fire seasons will startearlier, end slightly later, and generally be more intense". "This effect increases over time, but shouldbe directly observable by 2020."
I agree its a real pity we have let the last decade slip without any real action but that no reason not to start now. State of Climate 2018
