I can foresee possibly even in our lifetime the revelation that life does exist outside of our tiny speck that we call earth.
If/when this does occur, it will turn the mainstream man made religions on their heads.
That's not to say that God does not exist, just perhaps not the God that man made religions propose.
The argument should be balanced against the fact that mainstream man made religions were concocted in the distant past as a method to control the masses, when superstition was rife, science was all but non existent and many millenia before Columbus disproved the theory that the earth was flat.
Each to their own as long as they don't force their views down others throats or hurt anyone else in the process of observing their own beliefs.
