Its fair to say there are instances where auditors have been less than efficient, but for people to suggest the behaviour is typical of any auditors MO, is pure folly without supporting evidence in the form of all audits vs evidence based poor audits. For some reason exceptions are translated into the norm when some have an axe to grind. Witch burning at its best.
