Slight but important correction, medical cannabis is available through a TGA special access scheme request, not PBS approved. PBS subsidies will mean it can be prescribed to people as standard by your local gp for under $41 a script because of gov funding, that's when MC companies will see more patients and some real money.
Presently people go through expensive specialists and then pay anywhere from 200-700 for script by going through SAS approval so the patient pool is limited to those willing to jump through those hoops and that can afford it. This is why government attitudes towards medical cannabis is so important. Without being subsidsed by the PBS there won't be much of a market to sell to.
This is also why I like auscanns approach at targeting doctors next. They need to get the current SAS prescibers on board with the hard shell caps to make any money in the period before PBS approval.
