Take for example:

Now consider volume in the market, when the stock is held by many owners its in a expanded state, cycles don't move as fast and thus time appears to move slower.

But when the stock is concentrated in the hands of a few owners and is in a contracted state, cycles move very fast and thus time speeds up.

This is why a lot of stocks have short sharp rallies, but the bottoms take years to form.
