You'd probably find that those with the lowest commutes are most likely to be able to afford an EV and then scrap it after 7 or 8 years instead of pay $30,000 for a new battery system. This massive scrapping of electric cars due to them being worthless, has this been factored into it's CO2 footprint as yet? I doubt it. But who would buy a 7 or 8 year old EV that's coming up for a $30,000 battery replacement? Not me that's for sure.
Hopefully the up and coming LiS battery has a 20 year usable life, The planet has too much waste on it already!
