The Federal Labor Member for Perth Stephen Smith says there is a possibility the ALP could form a minority government in Western Australia in its own right.
The outcome of Saturday's election is still to be determined as it appears either the Liberals or Labor will need the support of the Nationals to form government.
However, Mr Smith says a data entry error in the North West seat shows it will be won by Labor.
Mr Smith says there's a technical possibility the ALP could form government in its own right with the support of the Independents in Kalgoorlie and Kwinana.
If everything falls Labor's way it is possible for Labor with the support of two Independents to govern in minority without the support of the Nationals.
Yesterday the Nationals had talks with the Premier Alan Carpenter and today Nationals Leader Brendon Grylls is meeting Liberal Leader Colin Barnett.
A spokeswoman for the Electoral Commissioner says there was not a data entry problem with the North West.
However she says there was a late result from one of the polling places.
