The directors are entitled to convert their options at any time and have added some nice liquidity to the company by doing so. They are also entitled to sell them providing they haven't breached any blackout period. Whilst it's not a great look having directors sell shares, it's much better than not having converted them at all.
If they have sold, (not many have that sort of cash lying around so may have needed to) and at a loss then they will soon get it that back in the form of salaries by ensuring near term liquidity.
If the money comes through from Tangier no-one will care anyway.
