Great Ann. engineers have evidently thought hard about how to apply in large water bodies. Like FR above, I thought that three boats might be inadequate, but then considered the fall of the application. The plume over a fall of more than 30 metres would develop widening and evening to cover perhaps 3 x the width of the boats. Yet the settling plume would be thin and would maybe require a return that is half the distance between the side barges.
All this is guessing and I'm sure that as FR above wrote, currents would disperse more.
How deep is the lake? Does the configuration of the boats positioning change with the depth of water? How large are the granules and how dense would determine the rate of settling.
I'm confident the engineers have considered all options and calculated the appropriate method for the most efficacious delivery.
Excellent news.
