Now now remoon ... jaded tends to foam at the mouth when he types but I find his analysis of DYE to be solid gold.

georg - not downramping DYE just thought I'd report back what I saw at the end of August. Yes I saw the Dyesol sign on the new building but also saw the "construction site" signs and the fencing. Spoke to a Dyesol bloke who said the admin and executive teams had not yet moved into their new digs. But I am happy to rely on your word that the site is now cleaned up and operating.

By the way, in the context of the Canberra region the number of flagpoles means three quarters of not much - there are about 200 flagpoles on the way up to the Big House and nothing much has been achieved there in years (non-political and anyway I voted for this current bunch so I can complain about them being all talk and no action). Most likely the idea of lots of flagpoles is the one idea the ex-boss of Canbera Tourism will have this year (tourism folks are always impressed by lots of flagpoles).

re the opening of the new place - I hope they manage to snag Minister Ferguson to cut the ribbon and not Wong or Garrett - Martin F can't speak very well but he can make decisons (the reverse of Wong and Garret who are all talk and no action - 88% of Australians want this current crowd to DO SOMETHING about the environment and still Wong and Garret are like like roos in headlights).

re the presentation. I actually thought it was an absolute cracker - well done Sylvia! - which shows the enormity of the potential that this company has. Very clear, very stark, very simple.

re the Italian glass deal - again, an absolute cracker IMO (as distinct from cracked glass). Now we have the three prongs - steel sheeting, glass and portable electronics

re: the potential of DYE. Yep fantastic potential - but in a few years this company will either be a giant or just a memory. Suggest you read "The Tipping Point" by Malcolm Gladwell. Did you know that there were two blokes who set out to warn the American colonials that the British were coming. One was William Dawes and the other was Paul Revere. Both had exactly the same message and both tried to get the locals to rise up. Dawes did not get his message across and nothing happened. Revere did get his message across and thus instigated the American Revolution. To survive, DYE cannot show just linear growth, it is either exponential or nothing (because this time it is the Americans that are coming).
