they must have hit it with their car 1st IMO, becausue a wild Kangaroo is not going to hang around and let you get out of the car and give it a pat on the head.
I reckon it was mortally wounded IMO, but could still stand up.
What they did was discusting, but anyone else would have left is there to die or given a sharp blow to the head to put it out of it's misery.
