Whart in short the market price reflects the perceived view of the value of the company, based on whatever assets, liabilities, revenue and future potential the company has. And its dependent on the company to provide continuous disclosure of how things are changing that can have a bearing on future earnings.
SMN isn't recommended as a holding for a newbie investor IMO.
I suggest you do lots of reading on the subject, but others will be better placed to recommend appropriate books.
