Haha dude you dont need to tell me this, im fully aware of this situation.
At the time I asked: Me: "Oh you had Chinese passengers on your flight, did they come from China?" Reply: "Yes" Me: "Did they look sick?" Reply: "They had face masks and yes they were sick they told us they were sick before boarding" Me: "Were they screened when they arrived from China in Sydney" Reply "I dont know"
As you can expect alarm bells ringing in my head.
I was a bit annoyed as you can imagine. How you can continue to do your job and not ask yourself these serious questions I was left a bit gob smacked.
Qantas is but one company, air asia, tigerair and many others do direct to china. Stopping flights should be any company!
When she received the union notice from her particular airline company it was yesterday before WHO announced it as a state of emergency. Hopefully the union/s will push back and get all flights stopped. But unfortunately what I dont understand is WHO declared it as a global emergency but said that it suggested trade and travel continue? I was a bit baffled by why they would say this.
