The first thing I agree with you on, this is starting to look like a bait and switch, throwing the BYE shares as an offer to not accept the MAY bid.
I am tempted to sell into the MAY bid myself having had a good look at their prospects, both the Beehive (Santos) and Cuba (Sonegal (??).
Both much more significant than what MEL has IMO.
