I believe this question has been previously answered by David, but may no longer apply under the more recent management changes.
The company decided to chase spodumene specifically and would take as a bonus any discovery of Pollucite along the way. The main reason being that it is likely you wouldnt have sufficient vectors to chase Pollucite, yet Pegmatites often lead the way for honing in on spodumene. Given the coexistence at least of Pollucite and LiO2 it seems a reasonable strategy.
