My comment was not re CGT but as in a Trading account as I understand it you do not have to sell stock to create your loss in a trading account, you can make provision for the write down of the value of your stocks as at June 31 . As always I say DYOR but in my previous posting I did not also add ask your Accountant as different accountants can come of with different opinions regarding these matters Cheers Towie
