You won't find many small/med ASX oilers paying divi's.

IPM and NZO do, other than that you might need to look to WPL,ORG and STO for divi's.

To be fair in the case of SAE, I would say it would be premature to expect the board to have given it much consideration yet, and they have shown willingness to buyback their own shares, which with lack of franking credits is as good imho, and addresses ALL your concerns about future buyers etc, provided the buyback attitude is sustained.

Imo it is companies like COE and PPP with embarrassing amount of cash that should be challenged on divi's and/or buybacks.
