I've been in the EPCM game for decades and seldom have I seen from a junior, a more thorough and diligent approach to the study phases of a mining and minerals processing facility. Make no mistake, the money is made in these phases - getting the mets right and the engineering founded. I really do hope that AVL does not do the usual, and engage with Chinese engineers. However, this is still a possibility especially with Chinese offtake interest.
Sure this approach is time consuming and costly in the short term, but if the market for vanadium is there, this is the ONLY methodology to ensure shareholder wealth generation over the long term. Too many juniors rush the study phases and build the plant with half-baked mets and cheap and nasty engineering/construction. This approach always ends in tears - just look at some of the recent WA lithium juniors.
