Mica is likely to be "loose fill" in the "dry stacked tailings" (from memory) and apart from taking up space, it may require engineers to monitor and mix tailings to ensure structural stability. This all adds up to more mining costs. The mine disaster - when a big wet tailings dam broke and killed many people is still a big community issue in Brazil.
Hence, the sale of mica byproduct and improved efficiency of tailings storage (dry stacked method, from memory) shall reduce some level of uncertainty & make it easier to get finance soon, and also greater community support to start mine construction.
It is all on the DFS and interesting reading. It also gelps that location is not as tropical or high rainfall as other regions in Brazil.
