Strikes can have a huge effect on airlines, although this would be a shorter term problem for Virgin.
There are all sorts of viruses about that could criple the tourism industry. Take the Bird Flu and Sars for example; they could rise again with greater implications. Much worse viruses are also very possible.
Terrorism could happen anywhere at anytime on a scale bigger than we have ever seen.
Why bother taking such risks when there are safer investments about?
