Well done westcott. I have only ever used the full download of the google earth program. That brings up Mbalam etc very clearly from the search box.
The deep red earth and mountains are so much like certain areas of the Pilbara (without the jungle). The Hope Downs project, Yandicoogina, Brockman, Tom Price all have similar terrain and the earth colour is identical.
If it was here it would be called Karijini and proclaimed a national park. It truly looks like a magnificient location, as is Karijini.
Get that red dirt into your skin and it takes literally weeks to clear. I still remember having a bath when I came home on R&R. The bath tub turned red, and that after showering onsite before coming home, the clothing stains are there forever. Those that are still there know what I mean.
