Well the markets in the USA and Australia have decided

USA Total EV sales in 2019 – both plug ins and full electric – around 337,000, down more than four per cent from 359,000 in 2018

Australia doesn't want a small EV that is 3 times the price as an ICE vehicle.

Expensive, yes, but not ridiculous at $65,000 for the base grade on the road. It comes from a mainstream brand with plenty of dealerships, goes nearly 450km between charges, is packed with safety kit and drives beautifully.

UK going well but sales include  both plug ins and full electric

The UK electric vehicle (EV) market grew by 21% in 2019, making it the best year yet for EVs. However, some industry experts are questioning whether the rate of growth is quick enough.
According to the joint government and car industry campaign, Go Ultra Low, more than 72,000 new electric cars were registered in the UK in 2019, a new record.
