Your not a cynic and i completely understand all sides of the debate. I short and long futures, but for a personal reason i will never short a company, as i dont feel i have the right to do it unless i am shorting against my own stock which is only a hedge. If i feel a company is not performing or letting me down in terms of growth or risk exposure, then i take the choice of selling out of the rights i have to that company and thats it period. I can make plenty of money investing this way and never loose a minute sleep to guilt that i took part in destroying a SP ( eg;NAB MQG etc, etc)

It is ironic that what goes around comes around, this morning i have helped someone fix a decimated account on 1 condition, the person never shorts a public company EVER AGAIN.

I look at the call by NINELIVES, i didnt agree with it but i sure as hell repect it and those made by others, by listening to others our ego's deflate enough that we make sound judgements and minimize risk. SF suggested NAB under 22, and boy am i glad i took that on board and patiently waited for more entries at lower prices. VOLTAIRE has concerns with BHP and for months i have listened and to this day im still not fully loaded, the bottom isnt the key the entry with minimal risk is. MANY shared there views RE the 18 September and fortunately they lined with my thoughts.

We are all entitled to our views on this issue and i respect all opinions as i also respect all posters, but for me the subject is closed and the remainder of the weekend will be spent assessing the markets and enjoying the Carnival of Flowers in Toowoomba

Have fun all and know the sweetest place to post a win is in your bank account.
