Software Development at Alcidion
The Alcidion software development team runs in an Agile Manner, following the SCRUM methodology.
We have a unique opportunity for the right person to join our high performing engineering team. As a key member of our Adelaide based Software Development team you will be working with like-minded team members to further develop our platform.
We are visionaries, providing tools to healthcare professionals and organisations. Our goal is to work with our customers to transform the way that they deliver healthcare by providing them with the information that they need when they need it to make the correct decisions for patient care.
The Role
This role covers a number of areas, with a primary focus initially to enhance one of our existing applications that replaces the traditional pager systems that are in use in a majority of hospitals. The application is developed using Google Web Toolkit (GWT) and has a Java backend and Web and Android clients. After the initial development, this role will have an opportunity to contribute to other areas of the Software Development team as well, depending on your area of interest and skills. We have a need for additional DevOps, .Net Core, JavaScript, Android , iOS development, etc. so we would love to discuss what you can bring to the team.
About You
You are a seasoned developer, having experience as outlined below. You have great interpersonal and communication skills, and enjoy working in an agile, fast paced environment.
Skills and Experience Required
- Minimum 5 years development experience
- Strong programming skills across the following:
- GWT or alternatively the following skill set:
- Enterprise Java (J2EE), JDBC data connections
- Java Servlets
- JavaScript
- Linux bash, SSH commands
- HTML CSS
- PostgreSQL
- Experience working with AWS is beneficial
- Experience working Git source control
- A continuous improvement mindset
- Worked in Agile teams. We expect our team members to be highly collaborative and to have excellent communication skills
