What do you mean by "gave $8 a share"?

The new entity will have a number of new shares issued, being allocated to the existing shareholders of TPM and VHA in the ratio determined by the terms of the merger. Once the shares are trading, the market will determine what it thinks they are worth each, taking in to account the enterprise value of the combined company.

TPG Singapore will be a separate company. Existing TPM shareholders will be issued new shares for this new company.
