These acts on innocent people or tourists happen because firstly they are unsuspecting, secondly unable to fight back as an organised force and thirdly the publicity from the horror generated to get the message out for their cause.

It happens the world over. I checked out of a hotel in Colombo, Sri Lanka in 2003 after being at a peacful Buddhist festival in Khandi a few days before which on the way i noticed or witnessed a clash between Tamils and others mainly protesters, nothing too violent.

The day after i left the hotel the foyer was blown up.

Since then whenever i stay anywhere around the Asian or Middle Eastern countries i frequent i stay in equally as oppulant but far less noticeable or "Western" branded hotels.

Some may say your time is up when it is up, but i prefer to use a bit of common sence to extend the deadline !
