Does he say what will happen to the economy if the virus gets a toehold? Because those businesses will see business return rapidly if the public feels safe but if not Chinatown will be the least of our worries. People en masse won't be going to hotels, cinemas, gyms, shopping centres, you name it.
Best to take the lesser pain of travel restrictions now and give us more time to prepare for what probably coming. There are no good solutions.
We need to beware of those industry sectors which are willing to put their own self-interest before all else. They are being very outspoken about why the travel restrictions need to be lifted.
