One good way to help motivate the clean up of your DRC cobalt (not all) supply chain (and deflect negative press from your own backyard), help out non DRC peers and effectively talk down what was a rampant price is to put it out in public at volume by end users. Including the real reduction in cobalt intensity but not exclusion for the most part.
Some journalists, brokers and posters lapped it up as gospel rather than seeing it as normal market forces and positioning.
