Naah, the 777s are a perfect buy for VB, they are not set up internationally to handle anything like the capacity of a fleet of A380s. The 777s will give them a perfect entry into a very profitable market, allow them to build capacity, and and at the same time, fly a hell of a lot cheaper than using 747s across the Pacific.
It is a damn good decision that will reward patience long term.
However, I'm not convinced buying the Embraers was the same masterstroke. Certainly happy to be proved wrong.
