Can anyone help me understand the price action on JBH over the last few days. I understand some institutional selling ahead of the ex-dividend date on the 20th but why the movement from 41.60 close on the 19th to open at 40.82 on the morning of the 20th down and then drop to 39.78 during the day (forgoing the dividend) against what looked like it should be a strong open from the broader and overseas market. Then on the record date of 21st it rebounded in early trade against a broader weak market even though the .99c dividend was paid. I'm left feeling there is something about how a large dividend impacts on stock prices over the ex-dividend and record dates.
