I sent an email to the company today making the following points:
"1. It is known that healthier members of the population are most likely to only experience very mild symptoms as a result of being infected by Covid-19.
2. According to information released by China to the WHO those who are most likely to suffer significant symptoms and be at risk of mortality are those members of the population over 80 years of age or those who are already ill with high blood pressure, heart disease, kidney disease or compromised immunity.
3. It has been shown in research conducted by the US Department of Defence and others that contracting gastroenteritis from E. coli infection can place patients at an increased risk of high blood pressure, heart disease and kidney disease.
4. It is now being stated by numerous infectious diseases experts that the policy of containment of Covid-19 has likely already failed and that Covid-19 will become a general risk for the world population at large.
If all of the above points are accepted as correct then there is a clear advantage for people to avoid suffering an E. coli infection, not just because it is unpleasant, but because it can lead to long term health effects which will make them more vulnerable to suffering the more extreme outcomes associated with Covid-19 infection."
I then went on to make the point that the company might consider promoting the use of Travelan to avoid E. coli infection with these facts in mind.
