Exactly kurrajong, when a professor from the Biosecurity Program at UNSW says, "if 50 per cent of Australians became infected, that is 492,000 to 738,000 people dying, over 3 million people needing a hospital bed and over 1 million people needing an ICU bed,"

I just don't get why people can't understand what that means to an economy. Instead, they shrug their shoulders impotently and say that it doesn't matter cause it will get here anyway. Half a million extra deaths would be gut-wrenchingly shocking to watch occur, would shake the country to its core and devastate the economy for many years.

But no, apparently temporarily restricting foreign travel is an too unbearable a cost to bear. The sleepwalking continues.
