Tony66,
I've been watching Stuart Moore's economic clock from p.7 of his book "How to start with no savings & get rich safely" (probably on the net somewhere too no doubt).
Basically his clock starts @ 12 with "Share market peak".
From 12 to 3 it goes "Share market peak", "Rising interest rates", "Falling share prices", "Falling commodity prices", & then "Falling overseas reserves".
From 4 to 7 (where we are now imo) it goes "Tighter finance", "Falling interest rates", "Increased unemployment", & then finally "Rising share prices". The current market turmoil that we are all aware of will dictate how long this phase lasts.
& finally it goes from 8 to 11 with "Rising commodity prices", Rising overseas reserves", & "Easier finances" leading back to 12 ("Share market peak").
I've be watching the market closely, trying to buy a few when I can while prices are low.
Having said that, the global situation is worrying but I'll be watching closely rather than panic selling. IMO the US will come up with a settling solution simply because the alternative will be catastrophic.
I'm looking long on CTP.
Good luck with your investments.
