The Plunge Protection Team is interesting. I have not heard of this or the US gvt supporting the markets before.
It is also interesting that Gold was sold heavily the same time Richard Coppleson was claiming the Punge Protection Team was buying US S&P 500 contracts. That could be reaffirming his theory.
