Please excuse me if you have heard this from me before.
Funny story..
I had broken my glasses and was having great difficulty seeing.
While waiting for my new pair, life has to go on.
It was about 6.30 in the evening and I went to the chemist to get some medication.
After being served, I then walked to the front counter to pay.
The checkout person said, "cash or card?"
"Card please" , was my answer.
I then proceeded to swipe my card.
Multiple times I swiped, at all kind of angles, upside down and back to front.
The young girl said. "Sir, do you have another card?"
"No" , I said, "this is my only card and it always works!"
There was indignation in my tone!!
"But Sir" she said, "you must have another card?"
"No, I do not, this is a perfectly good card and I don't understand what the problem is! "
The very calm and obviously gracious girl said, "Sir I am sure it is a good card, but it is after all your
license that you are trying to use!"
Well....
I laughed my head off, she started laughing, people waiting were laughing..
I was in stitches and had tears running down my face.
As I walked out, I looked back over my shoulder and said to everyone...
" I should have gone to Specsavers!!!"
It was just like a comedy routine...
