Interesting read though typical of that type of journalism.
The tone tends to be negative and ignore some of the realities.
For example where is there recognition that OGC has had several awards for its operations at Didipio in past years and achieved thumbs up for its environmental performance ? It is also not taking a Rudyard Kipling approach by running roughshod over the locals. There are many educational and financial benefits that are being enjoyed by the 1500 locals employed by the company.

The article tends to like to cast the company as some sort of ignorant foreign company that performs clumsily in the Philippines political and social environment.

To my mind it is one of those articles that plays up the negative and suggest that the company is doomed to be disappointed because of all the "opposition" and stumbling blocks before it. It is hardly what i would call a balanced article.
