press conference in singapore Qantas Airways Ltd chief executive Geoff Dixon will hold a surprise press conference in Singapore this afternoon, leading to speculation it may be about to take a stake in an Asian low cost carrier.
A press release sent out today did not speculate on what the briefing would entail.
Qantas has held talks with AirAsia but any tie-up has been consistently denied by the Malaysian low-cost carrier.
Rumours have persisted that Qantas might be looking at taking a stake in Singapore-based Valuair, while some analysts have suggested Qantas might go it alone. advertisement
