Hi Bweem, perhaps I should have articulated it better, I am not against the printing of money... I am against it when its just to prop up banks run by greedy dumb buggers.... what governments around need to do, right now... is to start injecting money.... now. I live near the coast, and already businesses are suffering from the Asian tourists not being here... now imagine, when no tourists come. Its going to damn horrendous. 3 million small businesses in Australia... that likely 3 million home owners... with soon to be incomes that are slashed. This has never happened before. Yet, the world is awash with money... (at least fiat money).

Most businesses are simply going to go out of business, because... patronage is going to fall off a cliff.
Only small sectors of the economy are going to be able to do well in an environment where no one is going out, activities are dramatically curtailed etc. Yet.... gold producers, good ones. Are going to make a lot of money, because... the trillions in derivatives... will need to hide somewhere.. somewhere that can actually have a chance of holding value.

I very much can understand that gold stocks may initially go down with the overall stock market.. yet... Telstra and WOW today stood like giants and simply shrugged off an almost 7% fall in the market... and they will likely continue to do so, because, no matter what, they will continue to operate.
Big busesses won't be closing, like schools or big events... they will continue because, by and large, their workforce won't be affected by this.

I have already posted on the RSG threads, so I need to step back a bit... and take a breath, but if ever there was a time for governments to show leadership... its now. Otherwise, they are going to have a depression on their hands, in a period of time that will take everyone's breath away ((hmmm... that is pretty alarmist, but... then I have been talking about this since mid January, and everyone I spoke to, and speak to now, think I am, well, crazy, paranoid etc.... Wish I was wrong).

I probably need to add, that most people are going to be fine and not get sick.... but to protect the ones around you, most will curb their living styles to protect them. That is where the larger issue is economically. Ok... shutting up now.

SAR is my core holding. Because I can see nothing safer on the ASX.
